Stacey Chiu - Top Ten Finalist
Stacey is a senior in high school and the oldest of five children. All four of her siblings are boys. Stacey lives in the Alaska, The Last Frontier. Having four brothers and living in Alaska keeps Stacey grounded and she knows that family is the most important thing in life. 40 below weather keeps her inside in the winter, but also very active in indoor activities. Stacey is proud to be part Athabascan Native, which has a rich cultural background in the Interior of Alaska. Every summer she goes fishing for salmon with her grandparents in Valdez. She loves acting, singing, camping, fishing, sports, community service, volunteering, and is very involved in school activities and committees. Stacey has participated in student council, track, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and football manager. Stacey enjoys being a teacher's aide for special education students. Stacey would like to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation. This is a cause very near and dear to her heart. Her baby brother was born with kidney disease. Her goal is to reach as many people as she can to bring hope to families that are in need of these precious life-giving donations. Stacey is working with Donate Life America to bring this cause to the forefront.
